The Bicycle Shack accepts trade-ins for store credit, or will even buy your items if they’re needed for inventory. If you don’t want the hassle or overhead of dealing with Craigslist or eBay, you should check with JD first for immediate cash or store credit.
The Shack can also sell your stuff on eBay for you. We get a percentage of the final sale price. Ask us about rates.
Some notes about trading or selling to The Bicycle Shack
- NOT interested in clothing, shoes or helmets, and only mildly interested in racks and fenders (we just don’t have the space!)
- Mountain components must be Deore level and up
- Road components must be Sora level and up for Shimano, any Campy components from mid ’90s on
- No dented frames accepted (very minor dings ok)
- Mostly interested in the newer rear spacing for MTBs and road frames (135mm+ for MTB, 130mm for road) – this means the frame will accept 8/9/10/11sp rear wheels.
- Mostly interested in oil bath forks and shocks (air or spring ok)
- If item is in good to very good condition, you’ll be given between 50 and 75% of its street value for store credit or cash (depends on condition and inventory needs). If an item needs servicing either in time or parts before it can be considered in good condition, that will be taken into consideration for trade-in worth.
